Tonight I'm going to do something a little different, I'm going to tell you about a interior design portfolio which you can tap into yourself if you want a bit of an interior design fix.
It's on the Decorati's website, a page (well a few actually) showing their top interior designer's rooms, with a brief description and information on how to try and get that look (although the "get info" idea is a bit sparse!)
It's called "Get This Look"!

I'm going to post here
my Top 5 Favorites.
my Top 5 Favorites.
I try to be so careful to look for true design style, and not just gorgeous furniture piled together in a room, which can work just as easily for an amateur because I'm looking to highlight true "designer" work - ergo, inspiration!
1. Black and White Stripe Master Entry designer: Nicole Yee, NY Interiors

Description: A vintage gown and dramatic black and white stripes that carry down the wall and over a custom bench define the entryway as a very unique dressing area.
My comment: This pic has inspired me to put a vintage gown in my bedroom on my mannequin! Now to find one...
2. Contemporary Living Space
manufacturer: Benjamin Moore

My comment: I think this Benjamin Moore is a "paint" company, so this is probably an add for paint, but hey, I still really liked it!
(I'm in love with all things lime right now - can't explain it!)

3. Vegas Glamor Great Room designer: W Interiors - Gina Willman

My comment: Well she had a big portfolio on their site, I must say, her style is quite masculine to me, a little on the "hotel" side of decorating, but it is gorgeous, very livable, relaxing and inviting...
4. Carlyle Hotel, Manhattan NY

5. Shagreen-clad cabinet by Vicente Wolf

4. Carlyle Hotel, Manhattan NY manufacturer: Studio Printworks

Description: The Pauline wallpaper was part of a restoration for the interiors of the Carlyle Hotel in Manhattan by CB Homes. Cameron, the president of CB Home, lead the project and is a personal friend of Dennis Shah (the president of SPW). This is in a suite in the hotel.
Studio Printworks was founded with the philosophy that sophisticated, hand-printed wallpaper adds style and richness to any home, be it city maisonette or rustic country cottage. It is with this ideal in mind that we offer high-style designs from diverse moments, places, and hands. In the spirit of the great 20th Century design masters, and with the talents of fine, contemporary artists we create wallpaper, not as quiet backdrop, but as stimulant for the eye and the soul.
My comment: Well this kind of design is right up my alley, it's stylish, contemporary, glamorous and best of all, unique. As you can see tho, this is a wallpaper company, not a designer, but none the less, just as inviting for me to mention in my Top 5!

My comment: Wowza - this guy has good taste. I just took a tour around his website, some of his work is so gorgeous, he has a distinct style, almost soft masculine - hard to explain, but I loved it! He also has a blog if you want to see him speak his mind on his craft, interesting, but seriously people, who has time to read blogs these days... ! huh *snigger*
