Office furniture and snowboarding have nothing to do with each other, but good folks over at Burton Snowboards seem to think differently. The Burton’s new CO2 snowboard bindings are inspired by Herman Millers’ famed Aeron Chair. The two hardly look different at the first sight. It looks like the chair has been moulded from here and there to create the snowboard binding. Retailing for $390, Burton’s 2009 CO2 board bindings tout spine inspired by Aeron’s Y-shape back design. Aeron chair is known for the adjustability it offers and on the same notes, Burton fixed a dial to help riders study their own angle of forward lean. The iconic Aeron chair has lead to the development of an advanced snowboard binding

Zaha Hadid’s space-age metallic bar looks to be track
This stunning bar and lounge is designed by famed visionary architect Zaha Hadid. It appears as he has designed some concept racing car. Well, this glossy space-age metallic bar designed for Home House in London has sculpted metallic surfaces finished with car paint or with silvered leather. The amazing racing car-inspired bar and lounge project was showcased when Hadid’s collaboration with Lacoste on a range of footwear was projected in the space-age new interior for London’s historic Home House. I don’t think they are offering this space-age metallic bar for the masses, but one thing is for sure — that it would look simply outstanding and only one of a kind inside our homes.
The Eden MotorYacht Concept is a Portrait of Grandeur
Â
This luxury motoryacht concept called, The Eden by Daniel Hahn, a German design professional is drool worthy owing to its sleek lines and luxurious silhouette. The “Eden†name itself is intended to evoke “desirability, freedom and personal spaceâ€. The 21 meter (72 foot) fast motoryacht is powered by a pair of 1,250 horsepower inboard engines. The hull and body of the Eden is formed from two primary materials to provide an interesting contrast. The lower hull section is formed from lightweight carbon fibre, while the main body of the craft is sculpted from wood to give it a luxurious finish. The yacht features single piece windshield to keep the overall shape as slippery as possible. Even the anchor is integrated into the body. The interior of the speedyacht has room for 3 guests and a single crew member. The proposed range at maximum speed (40 knots) is 360 miles.
W Hong Kong
Â
Thanks to the jet-set generation, demand for boutique hotels is increasing around the world. The first boutique “chain,” W, started the trend for a network of branded urbane-style properties and has just launched its latest edition - W Hong Kong. Located in West Kowloon, the hub of the buzzing financial district of Hong Kong, the new W brings a large dose of New York style to this cosmopolitan Asian business capital. The area is right on the commercial waterfront, so instead of luxury yachts you are more likely to look out onto imposingly large freight and cargo ships. It works though, juxtaposing the designer, luxury environment with the gritty, functional realism of the hotel’s location.
Other standouts include the spectacular rooftop pool, featuring an incredible mega-scale mosaic of a butterfly graphic created by Australian designer Fabio Ongarato. The pool looks out over the whole island - one of the most breathtaking in the city.
The rooms, designed by Australian interior desiger, Nicholas Graham and Japanese designer, Yasumichi Morita, are comfortable and welcoming. Each designer was assigned a specific floor to design, so each floor has its own personality, countering the cookie-cutter feel of most large hotels.
