The Old Council Offices residential conversion success in Newtown, Geelong

These offices - sorry, I mean "This residence", has it all!

What a grand looking home from the curb!

The living areas are rather large and have been sparsely decorated by the current owners, nonetheless, the home has a definite appeal. Again, timber floors help this home's ambiance.

The room below has many design problems, including it's current decor, but such a large room could be easily made magnificant by the right owner! The current owners have listed this property for sale, minutes from Geelong (which is about an hour from Melbourne) for over $2 Million Big Ones.

Considering this residence would have had heritage design restrictions on their ideas, I think they have made some really wonderful choices, like the ensuite leading off the Master suite.

And the all important Walk In Dressing Room...
(well done!)

But the real surprise and achievement is the outdoor entertaining area, with great colours and design...

Including a pool...

And BBQ, all in time for summer around the corner in Australia!

AND here's the Master Plan...

AND What did the Agent say?

Majestic and Imposing Historical Building

Features: Study
Proudly standing on one of the higher points of Newtown this masterful design is without doubt one of the city's greatest achievements in design and restoration. Originally the municipal offices it is one of those bold, ashlar finished and imposing two-storey buildings that celebrate our historical past.

The lathed double wooden doors open into the vestibule; the dark, cherry wood finish to the shellacked flooring reflects the grandeur of the living zone.
Firstly there is a large office on the ground floor enough for several staff accompanied by the cavernous yet beautiful dressing chamber opposite. On alighting the stairs to the main bedroom it is apparent that no expense has been spared in quality fitting or finish reflected in the enormous mirrors, with a gymnasium, a freestanding spa, and concealed bathroom/shower.

The broad and proud living zone rises above the steps of the entrance, with carpet embedded supporting the sumptuous lounge whilst opposite under the towering embellished ceiling is the grandest of kitchens, replete in European appliances. This total area is surrounded by four meter high slim line doors reaching for the sky, providing access to the private northern 'boat deck' resplendent in curved decking, a central waterfall gently splashes on river pebbles.

Upstairs the dormitory has three bedrooms of similar grand design, all with built in robes and serviced by either a private ensuite or central guests bathroom. A large theatre room compliments all this, with its own dance floor overlooking the port of Geelong. Atop all this is a whole rooftop view of 360 degree where the gentry would have watched victory parades from on high.

The Polynesian themed outdoor area provides further entertainment with its elevated and magnificent spa overflowing into the pool, the surrounding palms sway gently in the summer breeze.

WOW
