Your Home's First Impression

Your entry is your home's first impression.  It is said that people make a judgement within three seconds, so  before they get to know the personality of your home, they will make a judgement based on entry.  Your entry is like your outfit, you can afford to be a little experimental or creative.  This space is the first place guests see when they enter your home and the last place they see when they leave.

My must have's for an entry, 1. a mat or a rug that you can clean easily, most dirt in the home comes through the door  2. a light, it doesn't matter what kind, you need to see when you get in and its dark  3. a dresser, I have searched for a good photo of a dresser in use in an entry, apparently I am the only one that thinks this is a good idea.  You need a place to put your keys, your reuseable grocery bags, your mail, your hats, gloves, scarves, and random items that come through your door with no home.  My purse is large enough to need its own drawer.

And since I couldn't find images with a good set of drawers, here are some images I have torn from magazines in the past few years.
